About the module

Risk management
in practice.

Save the Titanic is an interactive e-learning module for systems engineers. Through a fictional rescue mission, learners define and formulate risks, assess likelihood and severity, identify risk factors through crew conversations, and apply selected risks to a risk matrix.

Learning Journey

The experience turns risk management into a fictional rescue mission. Learners first define and assess risks, then gather risk factors through crew conversations and use that evidence to position risks within a matrix. The sequence moves from guided understanding to applying knowledge in context.

Learning Experience Design

Contextualize the Method

The Titanic mission gives an abstract risk management method a concrete, meaningful context.

Build Complexity Gradually

Learners explore each part of risk analysis separately before combining them in the risk matrix.

Require Active Decisions

Learners classify scenarios, gather information from crew members and place risks in the matrix themselves.
